Disha 2025–26

About The Initiative & Social Impact Of “disha 2025-26”

DISHA 2025–26 is a flagship women empowerment program launched by the MISAT Charitable Foundation, Thrissur. Guided by the powerful theme “1000 Women, 1000 Dreams, One Mission,” the project aims to uplift 1,000 underprivileged women across Kerala by providing free professional healthcare training and job placement support in the role of General Duty Assistant (GDA) — a vital segment of the healthcare workforce. By equipping women with job-ready skills, personal development training, and access to employment opportunities, DISHA empowers them to become self-reliant contributors to their families and communities. However, DISHA is more than just a training program — it is a social movement. It represents a mission to break the cycle of poverty through education, employment, and empowerment. The MISAT Charitable Foundation envisions a Kerala where every woman, regardless of her background, has the opportunity to learn, earn, and lead with dignity.

Through DISHA, We Aim To:

  • Empower 1,000 women to secure stable and dignified careers
  • Strengthen the healthcare workforce in underserved communities
  • Support families affected by poverty and unemployment
  • Encourage greater participation of women in the formal workforce
  • Build a culture of confidence, dignity, and independence
Each woman trained under DISHA becomes a change-maker — transforming not only her own life but also uplifting her children, family, and the wider community.

Program Objectives

  • Identify and train 1,000 women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Provide free training and certification in the General Duty Assistant (GDA) program — aligned with healthcare industry standards.
  • Deliver practical skills and hands-on experience in patient care, hygiene, elderly care, and first aid.
  • Support job placement in hospitals, clinics, old age homes, and home-care services.
  • Promote self-confidence, dignity, and empowerment through education and employment.
